High School Band
The Rome High School Band is a cornerstone of musical excellence within the Rome City Schools system.
With a rich tradition of performance, discipline, and community involvement, our program offers students a comprehensive music education through various ensembles.

High School Ensembles
Marching Band
Our Marching Band, known as "The Sound of the Seven Hills," is the most visible ensemble, performing at all football games, local parades, and community events.
Participation requires attendance at summer band camp, after-school rehearsals, and all scheduled performances. Students must be enrolled in a concert band class to participate.
The Marching Band fosters school spirit and provides students with opportunities to showcase their talents on a grand stage.
Jazz Band
Our Jazz Band brings the soulful rhythms of jazz, swing, and blues to life!
Students explore improvisation, jazz theory, and ensemble dynamics while performing at various school concerts and community events.
Open by audition, the Jazz Band is ideal for musicians looking to groove and grow in an energetic, collaborative setting.
Wind Ensemble
The Symphonic Band serves as an intermediate ensemble, welcoming students who have developed a solid foundation in their instrumental skills.
While auditions are not required, placement is based on director recommendations and seating auditions.
The ensemble focuses on advancing musicianship through diverse repertoire and regular performances.
Basketball Band
The Basketball Band provides spirited support for Rome High School basketball games!
Playing energetic, crowd-pleasing music, this group enhances the excitement and atmosphere of game day.
Open to all band students, the Basketball Band is a fun, lively ensemble that fosters school pride and community spirit.
Concert Band
The Concert Band is designed for students who are continuing to develop their musical abilities.
This ensemble emphasizes fundamental techniques, ensemble playing, and prepares students for advancement to higher-level groups.
Participation provides a supportive environment for growth and performance experience.
Symphonic Band
The Wind Ensemble is our premier concert ensemble, featuring the most advanced musicians.
Admission is by audition only, and members are expected to demonstrate high levels of technical proficiency and musicality.
The ensemble performs challenging repertoire and represents Rome High School at various concerts and festivals, striving for excellence in every performance.
Percussion Ensemble
The Percussion Ensemble showcases the vibrant, versatile world of percussion instruments.
Students work on advanced rhythmic techniques, explore a variety of percussion repertoire, and perform in dedicated percussion concerts.
Open to percussionists by audition, this ensemble offers students the chance to shine both individually and as part of a cohesive unit.
